Ouch, this page is still being worked on.  Sorry.

Here are some of the things I want to discuss, when I get the chance:

  • Extreme Metaphors: Interviews with J.G. Ballard 1967-2008
The volume I conceived and co-edited. It was published by Fourth Estate/HarperCollins and was a Guardian Book of the Year in 2012.
  • Architectural Review Asia Pacific
The magazine I edited from 2011 to 2012. It was rebranded and relaunched from its former guise as Architectural Review Australia (including an iPad edition).
  • Applied Ballardianism: Memoir from a Parallel Universe
The book I am currently writing. I began it in 2009.
  • Micronations: the Lonely Planet Guide to Home-made Nations
The strange little tome I co-wrote in 2006 with John Ryan and George Dunford. It was optioned for a film starring Jack Black (true story).
  • Ballardian
The popular and widely cited website I founded in 2005. It details the cultural influence of J.G. Ballard (and is still going strong).
  • Subterrain
The magazine written by and about Melbourne’s homeless community. I founded and edited in 2005/06.
  • Sleepy Brain
The online magazine I founded in 2002, among the first online mags to document Melbourne’s artistic underground. It has been archived by the National Library of Australia as an “online publication of national significance”.
  • Liquid Architecture
The festival of sound art. I founded it in 2001 (and it is now in its 15th year).
